Giants game(s)

So now that it's certain that most of the Dutch guests are goiiiing... tooo San... Fran... Ciscooo... oh ehm, sorry. Embarassed

Anyways... yeah, now that we know who are coming over, it's time to arrange some tickets for you for the Giants game(s).

The Giants will be playing against the Philidelphia Phillies on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th, all at 7:15 PM.
Since most of you are leaving on the 24th, I'm suggesting to go on either on Monday 22nd or Tuesday 23rd... or... - my suggestion - BOTH nights.

So please reply to this post with your preference (AND click the Poll above)... let us know as soon as possible, so we can make sure there still are enough tickets for the game.

OK so I guess I wasn't totally clear in my previous post, but I'd you to click the POST REPLY button and write down which games you want to go to. We can then order tickets for you or - if there are enough people - get a group rate. So don't just click the Poll, write something here too. Preferably English, but Dutch is fine too... Smile

I definately want to see 1 game. If the rest of the group is going to see 2 games, count me in too, but I think one is enough.

Finaly I found this page. I don't like this way of communication. But I'll try.
Peter en I are coming to America.
Our plan is to fly to Vancouver (approximaly (red. Yev) on the 10th of august). We will rent a car and drive along the coast to San Francisco for the wedding (on the 21st) and to visit the Giants (only for one day - prefer the 22nd). After that we will drive to San Diego. From San Diego we will fly back to Amsterdam.

First of all, a short reply to my auntie Poer's comments: what's the problem with typing a little something in this forum? You're constantly stalking the entire family with SMS phone messages... and now typing in here is a problem...?? That makes NO sense at all auntie... Laughing

So now back to the subject of this Topic: the San Francisco Giants! Thanks to ALL (...) of you who replied in here... and for the real clear answers like "I think I want to go to 1 game, but maybe 2...". Yeah, that's really helpful! Very Happy

So I've made the decision for you: we're going on Tuesday, August 23rd. Most of the Dutch guests will be leaving on the 24th, so I figured that it might be a nice way of ending your stay in San Francisco... right?!

The tickets are $17 each... just so you know. I'll pay the tickets in advance, so you won't have to worry about that yet... but don't worry... I'll keep in touch with you all! Very Happy

Here's a nice little teaser for you Dutchies coming to San Francisco this summer... On Tuesday August 23rd it will be a lot like this picture below.
I just got off the phone with the Giants to confirm my order: I got 25 tickets in the section right behind Barry Bonds! Cool

Oh right, I was supposed to reply to you on that - excuse me for saying - RIDICULOUS question... so here it comes:

Well mr. Bear, like yourself, the USA is quite big... and east coast teams play against west coast teams a lot... which is a 6-hour flight between the two of them... (somewhat different than when the Eel Farmers have to play against the Stormbirds/Telstar).

Therefore, they usually play 3 games in 3 days, so that they won't have to fly EVERY day. Teams still fly around the country about once a week, since baseball is played just about every day (162 games in 6 months).

So that's why the Philadelphia Phillies are in San Francisco for 3 days... playing 3 games, not one loooong boring 3-day game as in criquet... baseball usually only last for 3 boring HOURS! Very Happy
